Steward's Report
Shout Out Loud and Kraken Nitro were quick to begin. Dyna Mimi and Stevron Autos collided approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Online, Kraken Nitro and Split Chic collided on the first turn, checking Kraken Nitro, Split Chic, Calen and Online. Billiluna and Shout Out Loud collided entering the front straight. Billiluna and Shout Out Loud collided on the second turn, checking Shout Out Loud and Online. Shout Out Loud marred the running of Billiluna several times in the home straight. Kraken Nitro was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abraded carpal pads (stoppers) on both front paws. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.
Shout Out Loud was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left pectoral (chest) muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr B McNamara, the representative of the greyhound Shout Out Loud, regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Shout Out Loud with marring. Mr McNamara pleaded guilty to the charge, Shout Out Loud was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows (MEP) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A sample was taken from Kraken Nitro, which was unplaced in the event.
MEETING COMMENTS
Satisfactory Trial Results - Gravel Rash Riot trialled over the 525m from box 8, weight 30.8kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four starters.The time of the trial was 30.21, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.5L. Gravel Rash Riot was cleared.
Stewards interviewed Mr. L Medcraft regarding his leaving a greyhound unattended in his trailer which is in breach of part 20 of the Greyhound Racing Victoria Transportation of Greyhounds Policy. Stewards fined Mr. Medcraft the sum of $200.
