Bliss Street and Oshkosh Uni Chet were slow to begin. Bliss Street checked off Oshkosh Expert approaching the first turn. Oshkosh Alaska and Bliss Street collided on the first turn checking Bliss Street. Bliss Street checked off Oshkosh Uni Chet approaching the second turn. Mr. Scentric galloped on the heels of Charlotte Allen in the back straight. Charlotte Allen and Oshkosh Uni Chet collided on the third turn checking Charlotte Allen. Bliss Street and Oshkosh Uni Chet collided approaching the home turn checking Oshkosh Uni Chet and Mr. Scentric; Oshkosh Alaska and Charlotte Allen fell as a result. 

Oshkosh Expert was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained sand toe on the right hind. No stand down period was imposed.

Charlotte Allen was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left long head triceps (monkey) muscle, and right quadriceps and sartious (pencil) muscles. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Oshkosh Expert, second placed in the event. 

Dyna Lassie was quick to begin. Spring Emperor and Fugitive Bale were slow to begin. Dyna Jackie, Gaza's Rooster and Destini Ricardo collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn, checking Dyna Jackie, Gaza's Rooster, Destini Ricardo and Fugitive Bale. Allen Kelvin, Dyna Lassie and Jacey Allen collided on the first turn, checking Dyna Lassie and Jacey Allen. Spring Emperor and Fugitive Bale collided on the third turn. Jacey Allen and Destini Ricardo collided on the third turn, and again approaching the home turn.

Crackerjack Shak and Black Legend were slow to begin. Stylish Chief and Bullseye Eagle collided approaching the first turn. Nicky's Gift and Dashing Moments collided approaching the first turn. Nicky's Gift, Stylish Chief and Iron Anda collided on the first turn, checking Bullseye Eagle and Iron Anda. Crackerjack Shak and Black Legend collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Stylish Chief and Dashing Moments collided on the second turn. Stylish Chief checked off Bullseye Eagle approaching the home turn.

A sample was taken from Meehan Dan, the winner of the event.

Whispering Soul was quick to begin. Uinka Allen, Barnes Banana and Happy Tails collided on the first turn, checking Uinka Allen. Zero Whispers and Barnes Banana collided on the fourth turn.

Avatar Thor and West On Xandi collided soon after the start. Destini Scorcher, Avatar Thor, West On Xandi and Roger's In Town collided approaching the first turn. Soft Sand, Limburg Gunna and Roger's In Town collided on the first turn, checking Soft Sand. Destini Scorcher, Avatar Thor, West On Xandi and Isala Bale collided on the first turn, checking Fordo Bale and severely checking Avatar Thor and West On Xandi which lost ground as a result. Fordo Bale and Soft Sand collided entering the back straight. West On Xandi and Isala Bale on the second turn.

Mitcharlie Mia was a late scratching at 12:20PM by order of stewards due to the greyhound being currently under an embargo (veterinary clearance) and therefore ineligible to compete.

Joffa's Old Girl was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left long head triceps (monkey) and right quadriceps muscles. A five-day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Urana Vee Eight, the winner of the event.

Shout Out Loud and Kraken Nitro were quick to begin. Dyna Mimi and Stevron Autos collided approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Online, Kraken Nitro and Split Chic collided on the first turn, checking Kraken Nitro, Split Chic, Calen and Online. Billiluna and Shout Out Loud collided entering the front straight. Billiluna and Shout Out Loud collided on the second turn, checking Shout Out Loud and Online. Shout Out Loud marred the running of Billiluna several times in the home straight. Kraken Nitro was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abraded carpal pads (stoppers) on both front paws. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.

Shout Out Loud was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left pectoral (chest) muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr B McNamara, the representative of the greyhound Shout Out Loud, regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Shout Out Loud with marring. Mr McNamara pleaded guilty to the charge, Shout Out Loud was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows (MEP) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A sample was taken from Kraken Nitro, which was unplaced in the event.

MEETING COMMENTS

Satisfactory Trial Results - Gravel Rash Riot trialled over the 525m from box 8, weight 30.8kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four starters.The time of the trial was 30.21, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.5L. Gravel Rash Riot was cleared.

Stewards interviewed  Mr. L Medcraft regarding his leaving a greyhound unattended in his trailer which is in breach of part 20 of the Greyhound Racing Victoria Transportation of Greyhounds Policy. Stewards fined Mr. Medcraft the sum of $200.
