The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Evil Dust and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 6.32pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer J Bosnich was fined the sum of $100.

The start time of this event was rescheduled to 6.53pm due to technical difficulties during kennelling.

Redefined was quick to begin.  Shanlyn George and Hawks Three Peat were slow to begin.  Jetmag Pie and Superior Mack collided soon after the start.  Hawks Three Peat contacted the running rail several time approaching the first turn.  Neopolitan and What's The Goss collided on the first turn, checking Superior Mack and What's The Goss, severely checking Jetmag Pie and causing Neopolitan to fall.  Shanlyn George galloped on the heels of Redefined on the first turn, severely checking Shanlyn George.  Shanlyn George and What's The Goss collided on the home turn.  Jetmag Pie contacted the running rail entering the home straight.

Hawks Three Peat was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained lacerations to the left lateral radius and ulna, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Neopolitan was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Challis Jack, Carmyle and Lady Cyclops were slow to begin.  Smiley Girl and Botanic Lass collided soon after the start.  Dance A Tron, Smiley Girl and Botanic Lass collided soon after the start.  Onya Jatt and Carmyle collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn, checking both greyhounds which raced wide as a result.  Challis Jack and Lady Cyclops collided on the first turn.  Botanic Lass and Challis Jack collided approaching the winning post.

Tinny Time was quick to begin.  Vienna Pink and No Road were slow to begin.  Telling Lies galloped on the heels of Niki's Lad on the first turn, checking Run Home Dash, No Road, Jonny Bravo and Vienna Pink.  Vienna Pink checked off Telling Lies approaching the home turn, checking No Road and severely checking Niki's Lad, causing Nicki's Lad to collide with Run Home Dash as a result.  Jonny Bravo and Niki's Lad collided on the home turn.  Vienna Pink raced wide on the home turn.

Mr B Sands, the trainer of Mr Emgrand declared a new weight of 30.6kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Mr Emgrand last raced at 31.7kgs. 

Bring Sexy Back was slow to begin.  Diegonator and Mr Emgrand collided soon after the start.  Bashir checked off Inter Carmella approaching the first turn.  Bring Sexy Back and Bashir collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds which raced wide as a result.  Mr Emgrand, Plaza Firl and Inter Carmella collided on the first turn, checking Inter Carmella.  Diegonator checked off Plaza Girl approaching the second turn.

My Baby Porscha was quick to begin.  Why Not Mick and Tekki Lightning collided soon after the start.  Cosmic Bay and My Baby Porscha collided on the first turn.  Why Not Mick galloped on the heels of Tekki Lightning on the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  My Baby Porscha and Izumi collided approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds.  Cosmic Baby, My Baby Porscha and Izumi collided on the home turn, checking Izumi, Maverick Dusty and Dozer Lad.  My Baby Porscha and Booma Mikado collided entering the home straight.  My Baby Porscha and Maverick Dusty collided in the home straight.  Tekki Lightning and Izumi collided approaching the winning post.

The connections of Twistex appealed against the Stewards decision handed down at the Cranbourne meeting on 26th February 2016 in relation to a failing to chase charge. They were granted a stay of proceedings enabling the greyhound to compete in this event. The appeal regarding this incident will be heard on 3rd March 2016.

Snow Gypsy and Sonic Fear were slow to begin.  Beljay Fantasy and El Marny collided on the first turn, checking Beljay Fantasy, Iona Machine, Twistex and Red Cadillac and severely checking Soda Anne.

Over Angry was slow to begin.  Annunaki, Orange Blossom, Add 'Em Up, Better Beware and Aston Lydia collided approaching the first turn, checking Orange Blossom and Ringo Dingo and severely checking Add 'Em Up.  Annunaki checked off Aston Lydia on the first turn.  Annunaki galloped on the heels of Better Beware on the first turn, severely checking both greyhounds, causing Better Beware to stumble and lose considerable ground as a result, subsequently checking Orange Blossom.  Aston Lydia checked off Over Angry entering the home straight.  Better Beware raced wide in the home straight.

Better Beware was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left thigh and right split webbing, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Jules' Fancy trialled over the 311m from box 1, weight 27.5kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 7. The time of the trial was 18.16, the greyhound was beaten a margin of 1.25 lengths. Jules' Fancy was cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results (Blinkers) - Blizem Mocca trialled over the 311m from box 2, weight 27.2kgs, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 7. The time of the trial was 18.16, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 15.75 lengths. Blitzem Mocha was Cleared To Race In Blinkers. 

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to B Sands, the trainer of Jodiels regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Jodiels last raced on 1 July 2015. B Sands stated that the greyhound was returning from an injured left biceps.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Jodiels trialled over the 311m from box 3, weight 25.2kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 7. The time of the trial was 18.16, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.25 lengths. Jodiels was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Sophie's Pride trialled over the 311m from box 4, weight 27.7kgs, the greyhound was placed 6th in a field of 7. The time of the trial was 18.16, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 16.6 lengths. Sophie's Pride was cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to H Villenger, the representative of Platinum Perri regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  H Villenger stated that the greyhound was a first starter, but has previously coursed and had also come on season.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Platinum Perri trialled over the 311m from box 6, weight 25.1kgs, the greyhound was placed 5th in a field of 7. The time of the trial was 18.16, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 16 lengths. Platinum Perri was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mrs E Johannsen, the representative  of Always About Me regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Always About Me last raced on 25 November 2014. C Johannsen stated that the greyhound was returning from a fractured right hip.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Always About Me trialled over the 311m from box 8, weight 29.9kgs, the greyhound was placed 7th in a field of 7. The time of the trial was 18.16, the greyhound was tailled off. Always About Me was not cleared.  Always About Me was vetted following the trail.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right wrist, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Lazza Mikado trialled over the 311m from box 7, weight 32.6kgs, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 7. The time of the trial was 18.16, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 14.75 lengths. Lazza Mikado was cleared.
