A pre-race sample was taken from Waikiki Creek.
Waikiki Creek and Hemene collided soon after the start checking Hemene. Dynamite Zara crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Ima Terror, Nikita's Marlow and Rival Scar. Rival Scar, Full Blown Turbo and Waikiki Creek collided entering the back straight checking Full Blown Turbo. Ima Terror and Waikiki Creek collided approaching the home turn.
Hemene was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left thigh muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
