Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Power Sensation.
Be Hopeful was slow to begin. Destini Seahorse, Danny Brook, Power Sensation and Destini Baby collided approaching the first turn checking Danny Brook. Destini Seahorse, Power Sensation and Destini Baby collided entering the back straight checking Power Sensation and Destini Baby. Be Hopeful checked off Power Sensation approaching the home turn. Shout Out Loud failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight.
Shout Out Loud was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Trainer, Ms. L. Cookson declined to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Ms. L. Cookson, the trainer of the greyhound Shout Out Loud regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), Stewards charged Shout Out Loud with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Cookson pleaded guilty to the charge. Shout Out Loud was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
