Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Wright, the trainer of Ava Crowder regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Ava Crowder last raced on 11th April 2016. Mr. Wright stated that the greyhound was returning to race after an extended spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Ava Crowder trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 25.5kgs. The greyhound was placed 4th, in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.39. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9.75 lengths. Ava Crowder was cleared.
