Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Evelyn.
Stephie Keats was quick to begin. Stephie Keats, Share, Fawn Nova, Aston Emilio and Zulu Zoe collided on the first turn. Evelyn and On Edge collided on the first turn checking On Edge. Share and Aston Emilio collided approaching the second turn checking Aston Emilio and Evelyn. Runnin' On Fire and Aston Emilio collided on the second turn checking Aston Emilio. On Edge eased on the second turn and pulled up. Runnin' On Fire and Share collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Aston Emilio and Evelyn collided approaching the home turn.
On Edge was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent. Trainer Mrs. K. Gorman declined her option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. K. Gorman the trainer of the greyhound On Edge regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the second turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged On Edge with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs. Gorman pleaded guilty to the charge, On Edge was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
