A pre-race sample from Miss Asrai was aborted due contamination, a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Cowboy Brett was slow to begin.  Miss Asrai was checked off Little Mischa approaching the first turn.  Crazy Eye Jye and Sultan's Boy collided approaching the first turn.  Miss Asrai was checked off Little Mischa on the first turn.  Crazy Eye Jye and Sweet Shiraz collided on the first turn causing both greyhounds to race wide.  Little Mischa and Miss Asrai collided approaching the home turn severely checking Miss Asrai and checking Little Mischa and Sweet Shiraz, Miss Asrai fell as a result.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Pace the trainer of the greyhound Bazz Kebab regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the third turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Bazz Kebab with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Pace pleaded guilty to the charge, Bazz Kebab was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 3 months all tracks and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted..

Barroom Express was slow to begin.  Dr. Poppel, Steinbeck Knew and Say Nothing collided on the first turn checking Say Nothing and Barroom Express and severely checking Steinbeck Knew and McThumpa.  Gunmetal Angel crossed to the outside approaching the home turn and collided with Daintree Rhumba.  Banjo Barbie crossed to the outside entering the home straight.

McThumpa was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right wrist, left chest muscle, left trapezius muscle, right shoulder and left shoulder, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Gunmetal Angel was vetted following the event.  It was repoted that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr. J. Formosa the trainer of Gunmetal Angel regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.

Jamari Belle was a late scratching at 2.17pm due to the greyhound being on season.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Little the trainer of Riverside Shaz regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Riverside Shaz last raced on 14/11/16.  Mr. Little stated the greyhound was returning to racing following the trainers ill health.

Classy Gun was quick to begin.  Riverside Shaz, Lucky Andy and Magic Euphoria collided on the first turn severely checking Riverside Shaz, Lucky Andy, Magic Euphoria and Bright Sky causing Magic Euphoria and Bright Sky to fall, Lucky Andy lost ground and tailed off as a result.

Bright Sky was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured neck, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Magic Euphoria was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left scapula injury, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Lucky Andy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Liberty Diamond was slow to begin.  Holler At Me and Smiley Bynes collided soon after the start.  Smiley Bynes was checked off Top Chic approaching the first turn checking Holler At Me.  Liberty Diamond and Witch Talking raced wide approaching the home turn.

Lady Tron was slow to begin.  Hot Genetics was checked off Bar The Bullet on the first turn.  Gotta Permit was checked off Locked Out approaching the home turn.  Hot Genetics was checked off Bar The Bullet entering the home straight severely checking Hot Genetics and Lady Tron.

Zipping Frank was slow to begin.  Barnie's Blaster was checked off Moreira Magic soon after the start.  Moreira Magic was checked off Fallen Star approaching the first turn, Moreira Magic lost ground and tailed off as a result.  Fallen Star and Come On Lassy collided in the home straight.  Zipping Frank and Crusader collided approaching the winning post.

Moreira Magic was vetted following the event and re-vetted 40 minutes later.  It was reported that the greyhound was found to have soreness in both hind legs, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Pace the trainer of the greyhound Moreira Magic.  Stewards deemed the performance of Moreira Magic unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71 Stewards directed that Moreira Magic must perform a satisfactory trial all tracks before any future nomination will be accepted.

O'Keefe the trainer of Sudden Burst regarding the length of time since the gryehound last raced.  Sudden Burst last raced on 07/09/16.  Mr. O'Keefe stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennel.  Sudden Burst  trialled over 315 metres from box 3, weight 31.0kg, the greyhound was placed third, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 17.93 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 7 lengths.  Sudden Burst was cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Jack the trainer of Elram Girl regarding the length of time since the gryehound last raced.  Elram Girl last raced on 13/07/16.  Mr. Jack stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a dislocated right knee.  Elram Girl  trialled over 315 metres from box 8, weight 27.0kg, the greyhound was placed second, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 17.93 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.25 lengths.  Elram Girl was cleared.
