Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Peterson, the trainer of Feeling Lucky regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Feeling Lucky last raced on 17 October 2016 and is returning after a spell.
A pre-race sample was taken from Smiley Bynes.
Gone Early was quick to begin. Feeling Lucky and Tyrone Kahn were slow to begin. Corroboree and Smiley Bynes collided soon after the start. Feeling Lucky and Tyrone Kahn collided approaching the first turn checking Feeling Lucky. Classy Gun was checked off Smiley Bynes approaching the first turn. Surfin' Caity and Smiley Bynes collided on the first turn checking Surfin' Caity. Corroboree clipped the heels of Surfin' Caity on the first turn checking Classy Gun, Eye Spy Emma and Tyrone Kahn and severley checking Corroboree and Surfin' Caity. Feeling Lucky faltered on the first turn. Surfin' Caity and Corroboree collided entering the home straight checking Surfin' Caity.
Feeling Lucky was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right back muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
