Steward's Report
This meeting was deemed heat affected. At the close of kennelling the outside temperature was 32.1 and the kennel temperature 18.4.
A pre-race sample was taken from Scott Cosmic.
Scott Cosmic and Stetson Bart were slow to begin. Westmead Maggie and Shazza's Gift collided soon after the start, checking Shazza's Gift. Scott Cosmic galloped on the heels of Shazza's Gift approaching the first turn. Scott Cosmic and Stetson Bart collided approaching the first turn. Better Ways crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking Shazza's Gift and Westmead Maggie. Scott Cosmic galloped on the heels of Stetson Bart on the first turn, checking Shazza's Gift and Scott Cosmic. Cosmo Lass raced wide in the home straight.
Shazza's Gift was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right elbow and left side of the tail base, as well as spike wounds to the left hind leg, a fourteen day stand down period was imposed.
A sample was taken from Miss Flower - the winner of the event.
The green light on the boxes failed to function at the start of this race, the start was correct and the light was checked and working post race.
