Stewards spoke to Mr S Coulson, the handler of the greyhound Barellen Panther, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Barellen Panther with marring.  Mr Coulson pleaded guilty to the charge, Barellen Panther was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Crackerjack Brom was slow to begin.  Late Arrival, Spring Emperor and Ving Bale collided soon after the start, checking Late Arrival and Spring Emperor.  Iris Allen, Ultra Bear and Joraddi collided entering the back straight, severely checking Ultra Bear.  Late Arrival checked off Iris Allen approaching the second turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr R Camilleri, the trainer of Fordo Bale, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Fordo Bale last raced on 12 October 2016.  Mr Camilleri stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a left shoulder injury.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr M McGuire, the trainer of Padma Grange regarding the length of time since the greyhounds last engagement. Padma Grange last competed in excess of six months.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Padma Grange trialled over the 390m from box three, weight 24.1 kgs, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.60, the greyhound beaten by a margin of 9.25 lengths.  Padma Grange was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Stewards spoke to Mr M McGuire, the trainer of Pitil Grange regarding the length of time since the greyhounds last engagement. Pitil Grange last competed in excess of six months.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Pitil Grange trialled over the 390m from box five, weight 27.1 kgs, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 22.60, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8.25 lenghts.  Pitil Grange was Not Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Prince Cheviot trialled over the 390m from box one, weight 30.5kg the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.60, the greyhound won by a margin of a neck. Trainer Mr. Smith advised that the greyhound last raced at 31.9kg.  Prince Cheviot was Cleared.
