Steward's Report
Black Sass was slow to begin. Barellen Panther and Destini Echo collided soon after the start, checking Barellen Panther. Kalani Karl and Destini Echo collided approaching the first turn, checking Kalani Karl. Barellen Panther, Monaro Joe and Revin Kevin collided on the first turn, checking Monaro Joe and Revin Kevin. Black Sass and Revin Kevin raced wide on the home turn. Barellen Panther marred Destini Echo approaching the winning post.
Barellen Panther was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hindleg thigh injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr S Coulson, the handler of the greyhound Barellen Panther, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Barellen Panther with marring. Mr Coulson pleaded guilty to the charge, Barellen Panther was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
