Steward's Report
Foxy Fern was a late scratching at 11.14pm on 25/2/17 due to illness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Nu Blue Champion was quick to begin. Beluga, Arachnophobia and Chief Tonto were slow to begin. Hollywood Nights eased soon after the start. Hollywood Nights and Way Things Are collided at the 100m mark, checking Arachnophobia and severely checking Hollywood Nights. Beluga and Laurie Galore collided approaching the winning post. Nu Blue Champion eased approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Ms. A Terry, the trainer of the greyhound Nu Blue Champion regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Nu Blue Champion was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right calf and thigh, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Nu Blue Champion with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms.Terry pleaded not guilty to the charge, Nu Blue Champion was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted
Hollywood Nights was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards opened and adjourned an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Mr. Simon Humphries leaving the course after being directed by stewards to appear before the steward in charge. Mr. Humphries was unable to be contacted by mobile phone.
