Sunset Believer and Dream Goal were slow to begin.  Amaroo Loco was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Sunset Believer and Eye Spy Emma collided soon after the start.  Artistic Alyssa and Sunset Believer collided on the first turn. Sunset Believer was checked off Magic Euphoria on the first turn.  Chabay Laray and Dream Goal collided on the first turn checking Dream Goal.

Stewards spoke to Mr. E. Prazza, the trainer of Ding Bale regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Ding Bale last raced on 17 October 2016 and is returning after injuries to both metatarsals.

Corroboree and Lucky Andy were slow to begin.  Moody Ruby and Smiley Bynes collided soon after the start.  Classy Gun and Tiger Jams collided on the first turn.  Corroboree clipped the heels of Zafonic Express on the first turn checking Moody Ruby and severley checking Corroboree and Lucky Andy.  Zafonic Express eased and crossed to the outside entering the home straight severley checking Ding Bale and Classy Gun, Smiley Bynes fell as a result severely checking Moody Ruby.  

Smiley Bynes was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Bean the trainer of the greyhound Zafonic Express regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight.  Zafonic Express was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 6, it was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising on a left hind toe, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) the Stewards charged Zafonic Express with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury.  Mr. Bean pleaded guilty to the charge, Zafonic Express was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Flip, Big Burkey, Dr. Balboa, Daintree Rhumba, Shackleton and Rozehill Beth collided soon after the start checking Big Burkey, Dr. Balboa, Daintree Rhumba and Shackleton.  Big Burkey and Dr. Balboa collided entering the back straight checking both greyhounds.  Daintree Rhumba was checked off Flip approaching the winning post.

Guard Your Path was a late scratching at 3:10pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a left hind split webbing.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Soda Storm and Alpha Nyx were quick to begin.  Brindle Audrey was slow to begin.  Soda Storm and Alpha Nyx collided on the first turn.  Johnny Scull galloped on Alpha Nyx approaching the second turn severely checking Johnny Scull and Alpha Nyx subsequently checking Mirror Reality.  Johnny Scull and Brindle Audrey collided approaching the third turn checking Johnny Scull.  Van Damm was checked off Soda Storm on the third turn.  Johnny Scull was checked off Brindle Audrey approaching the home turn checking Brindle Audrey.  Van Damm was checked off Soda Storm on the home turn and again in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Churchill, the trainer of Smokey Senor regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Smokey Senor last raced on 26 November 2016 and is returning after a right front toe injury and a change of trainer.

Dr. Ripped, Chicks Buzzard, Dulcet Sound and Orange Blossom were slow to begin.  Dulcet Sound and Orange Blossom collided soon after the start.  Mr. Nasty Time galloped on Orange Blossom on the first turn checking Showgirl Miss, Fairy Tiger and One More Des and severely checking Mr. Nasty Time, Dulcet Sound and Orange Blossom fell as a result. Dr. Ripped faltered on the first turn and tailed off.  Showgirl Miss was checked off Fairy Tiger approaching the home turn.  

Chicks Buzzard was vetted following the event after the greyhound cramped in the catching pen.  It was reported that the greyhound was found have slight stiffness in both quads, no stand down period was imposed.

Dr. Ripped was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right hock, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Orange Blossom was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left triangle muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Dulcet Sound was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Mr.Nasty Time was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right hind leg and a laceration to the right front leg and left hind foot, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Satisfactory trial (blinkers) result:-

Bliss Street trialled over 315 metres from box 2, weight 32.9kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 18.18 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.75 lengths.  Bliss Street was cleared to race in blinkers.

Satisfactory trial result (GAR 77A):-

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Keating the trainer of Canya Keato regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Canya Keato last raced on 16/06/16.  Mr. Keating stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right archilles tendon injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Canya Keato trialled over 315 metres from box 8, weight 33.8kg, the greyhound was placed fifth in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 18.18 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 12 lengths.  Canya Keato was cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Power the trainer of Senor Gold regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Senor Gold last raced on 10/08/16.  Mr. Power stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right back muscle injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Senor Gold trialled over 315 metres from box 7, weight 32.1kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 18.18 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.75 lengths.  Senor Gold was cleared.
