Splendid Shiraz, Stalemate, Valarie Allen, New Tibur and Galba Paul collided soon after the start checking Stalemate, Valarie Allen and New Tibur.  Tay's Evil Twin crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Roofer.  Dr. Gemima, Splendid Shiraz and Galba Paul collided on the first turn checking Splendid Shiraz and Galba Paul which raced wide as a result.  New Tibur crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Stalemate and Valarie Allen.  Galba Paul checked off Splendid Shiraz approaching the second turn.  Dr. Gemima clipped the heels of Roofer approaching the home turn.  New Tibur raced wide on the home turn.  Splendid Shiraz and Galba Paul collided on the home turn and several times in the home straight, Splendid Shiraz and Galba Paul tailed off as a result.

Tay's Evil Twin was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a split webbing right hind injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Galba Paul was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  Stewards spoke to Mr J R Maple, the trainer of the greyhound Galba Paul.  Stewards deemed the performance of Galba Paul unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Galba Paul must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Splendid Shiraz was vetted and revetted following event 5. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right triangle muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mr R W Fisher, the trainer of the greyhound Splendid Shiraz.  Stewards deemed the performance of Splendid Shiraz unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Splendid Shiraz must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
