Karinjini was quick to begin. Tiger Hugo, Matilda Taylor and Narly Texan were slow to begin. Tiger Hugo and Matilda Taylor collided soon after the start checking Matilda Taylor. Dyna Krypto and Goodnight Skye collided approaching the first turn checking Goodnight Skye. Dyna Krypto and Classic Moments collided on the first turn checking Classic Moments. Dyna Ditto checked off Matilda Taylor on the first turn. Dyna Krypto and Tiger Hugo collided on the first turn checking Tiger Hugo. Goodnight Skye checked off Classic Moments on the first turn. Goodnight Skye and Narly Texan collided approaching the home turn checking Goodnight Skye and causing Dyna Ditto to fall. Matilda Taylor raced wide on the home turn. Karinjini eased approaching the winning post.
Dyna Ditto was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Ms. A. Dailly, the trainer of the greyhound Karinjini regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Karinjini with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Dailly pleaded guilty to the charge. Karinjini was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
