Ms. D.Coleman, trainer of Hanging In There declared a new weight of 31.7kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Hanging In There last raced at 30.3kgs.
Hetalia Bale was a late scratching at 6:39pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a right back muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Immortal Bear and Lektra Utopia were quick to begin. Hanging In There was slow to begin. Penelopes Cruzn and Allen Icarus collided approaching the first turn checking Allen Icarus. Lektra Utopia and Immortal Bear collided on the first turn checking Hanging In There and Allen Icarus. Crackerjack Burn and Penelopes Cruzn collided on the first turn. Penelopes Cruzn, Immortal Bear and Tiggerlong Katut collided approaching the home turn. Immortal Bear and Lektra Utopia raced wide entering the home straight. Allen Icarus faltered in the home straight and lost considerable ground as a result.
Allen Icarus was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its back muscle. A 28 day stand down period was imposesd.
