A pre-race sample was taken from They Watch.
Golden Warrior was very slow to begin (6 lengths). Miracle Whip was slow to begin. Artificial, They Watch, Valletta Chief and Fiery Nell collided approaching the first turn checking Valletta Chief and severely checking Artificial; They Watch fell as a result.
Artificial was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right hind toes and neck soreness. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
