Steward's Report
Mum's gem stumbled soon after the start and lost considerable ground. Alouette Magic and Able Chief collided on the first turn. Isabella Cargo checked off Flash Riot on the first turn. Flash Riot and Kilcolegan Cross collided approaching the second turn. Isabella Cargo and Aloette Magic collided approaching the second turn checking Alouette Magic. Flash Riot and Kilcolegan Cross collided on the second turn. Flash Riot eased on the second turn and collided with Kilcolegan Cross severely checking Kilcolegan Cross and both greyhounds raced wide as a result. Mepunga Sammy eased on the second turn. Alouette Magic and Blush Burst collided on the home turn. Blush Burst and Flash Riot collided in the home straight. Alouette Magic, Blush Burst and Flash Riot collided approaching the winning post.
Flash Riot was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness in the left triceps. A stand down period of 5 days was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Kraemer, the trainer of the greyhound Flash Riot regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the second turn and approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Flash Riot with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Kraemer pleaded guilty. Flash Riot was found guilty and the greyhound has been suspended for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Moncrieff, representative of the greyhound Mepunga Sammy regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the second turn. Mepunga Sammy was vetted . It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left groin, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Mepunga Sammy with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Moncrieff pleaded guilty to the charge. Mepunga Sammy was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
