Toothless Homer was slow to begin.  Tally Ho Lass crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Nikon Bale and Bekim Nikita.  Kinloch Creek checked off Blonde Man on the first turn checking Nikon Bale, Kinloch Creek, All Bolts and Toothless Homer.  Bekim Nikita checked off Blonde Man in the back straight and collided with All Bolts; All Bolts raced wide as a result.  Kinloch Creek checked off Nikon Bale on the second turn.   Blonde Man checked off Bekim Nikita entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr M McGuire, the trainer of Sootette regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Sootette last raced on 26th April, 2015.  Mr McGuire stated that Sootette was returning to race after being on season.  Stewards noted Mr McGuire's explanation.

Mr. M. McGuire, representative of Sootette declared a new weight of 26.4kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Sootette last raced at 24.4kgs.

Seeya Sticka trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 8, weight 24.7kgs.  The greyhound was placed 2nd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.44.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2.75 lengths.  Seeya Sticka was cleared.  Seeya Sticka was also cleared under a Weight trial.
