Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Jebreco Surprise.

Runnin' On Fire was quick to begin.  Maybe Hannibal was slow to begin.  Zipping Todd and Aston Powers collided soon after the start.  Miranlou and Jebreco Surprise collided soon after the start.  Runnin' On Fire was checked off Aston Powers approaching the first turn.  Zipping Todd, Runnin' On Fire and Chucky Thump collided on the first turn checking Zipping Todd and Chucky Thump.  Zipping Todd and Kruzin Cripps collided on the second turn.  Chucky Thump and Jebreco Surprise collided on the third turn.  Chucky Thump eased on the home turn and collided with Kruzin' Cripps.

Jebreco Surprise was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Majoor the trainer of the greyhound Chucky Thump regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn.  Chucky Thump was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 11, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) the Stewards charged Chucky Thump with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury.  Mr. Majoor pleaded not guilty to the charge, Chucky Thump was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
