Steward's Report
Mr. R. Crawford, trainer of Zelemar Bomba declared a new weight of 32.0kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR39(2). Zelemar Bomba last raced at 30.8kgs.
A pre-race sample was taken from Zulu Zoe.
Ninetymile Saint and Ultimate Matrix were slow to begin. Zelemar Bomba and Zulu Zoe collided soon after the start. Silver Banjo, Zelemar Bomba and Zulu Zoe collided several times at the 300 metre mark. Ninetymile Saint and Ultimate Matrix collided approaching the 250 metre mark. Wendy Can't Run and Zulu Zoe collided at the 250 metre mark and again approaching the 200 metre mark. Jarrad Keats checked off Zelemar Bomba at the 200 metre mark checking Jarrad Keats. Wendy Can't Run checked off Zulu Zoe approaching the 100 metre mark. Zelemar Bomba eased approaching the 50 metre mark.
Jarrad Keats was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Crawford, the trainer of the greyhound Zelemar Bomba regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the 50 metre mark. Zelemar Bomba was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 12, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left wrist and groin. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Zelemar Bomba with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Crawford pleaded not guilty to the charge. Zelemar Bomba was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
