Steward's Report
Cullquin Frank and Winchester Arms were slow to begin. Winchester Arms and Texas Rising collided soon after the start checking Winchester Arms. Winchester Arms checked off Texas Rising approaching the first turn. Winchester Arms and Critic collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Winchester Arms galloped on Texas Rising on the first turn checking Winchester Arms, Texas Rising and Critic. Winchester Arms and Critic collided approaching the home turn checking Critic. Texas Rising and Cullquin Frank collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking Texas Rising. Swift Spur and One Plus Two collided entering the home straight checking Swift Spur. Swift Spur checked off One Plus Two in the home straight. Cullquin Frank raced wide in the home straight. Winchester Arms marred the running of Cullquin Frank several times in the home straight.
Winchester Arms was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Dapiran, the trainer of the greyhound Winchester Arms regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Winchester Arms with marring. Mr. Dapiran pleaded guilty to the charge, Winchester Arms was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
