A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Iona Everest a post race sample was subsequently taken.
Iona Everest was slow to begin. Proven May and Full Of Hope collided soon after the start checking Proven May. Platinum Force and Proven Mona collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Ripple Eff Ex checked off Full Of Hope on the first turn. Iona Everest checked off Buckle Up Mauve on the first turn. Platinum Force checked off Iona Everest approaching the home turn. Iona Everest and Proven May collided on the home turn. Full Of Hope veered out and marred the running of Ya Reckon on the home turn checking Ya Reckon. Ripple Eff Ex veered out and marred the running of Full Of Hope on the home turn checking Full Of Hope and Ya Reckon. Iona Everest checked off Buckle Up Mauve.
Ripple Eff Ex was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. A. De Battista, the representative of the greyhound Ripple Eff Ex regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Ripple Eff Ex with marring. Mr. De Battista pleaded guilty to the charge, Ripple Eff Ex was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
