Steward's Report
Pre Race samples were taken from April Gem unplaced in the event. McBride was quick to begin. Kosi Can and First Dan were slow to begin. Blistering Sands, Gambo Girl, Darbain Dasher, Word Are Weapons and April Gem collided soon after the start checking Gambo Girl and Darbain Dasher. Darbain Dasher crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Gambo Girl. April Gem checked off McBride approaching the first turn and raced wide. Blistering Sands contacted the running rail on the first turn checking Blistering Sands. McBride checked off Word Are Weapons on the first turn checking Kosi Can. Darbain Dasher and April Gem raced wide in the back straight. Blistering Sands and First Dan collided in the home straight.
April Gem was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right shoulder injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
