Born Lightning crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Amity Flame and Sachin Bale. Amity Flame, Sachin Bale and She's Purring collided on the first turn checking Amity Flame and She's Purring. Amity Flame checked off Sachin Bale approaching the second turn and again on the second turn. Sachin Bale, Hey Roseeta and Gettin Slizzard collided on the fourth turn checking Amity Flame and Sachin Bale. Sachin Bale and Gettin Slizzard collided on the home turn checking Gettin Slizzard. Sachin Bale checked off Amity Flame on the home turn.
Born Lightning was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 7, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Ms. K. Collyer, the representative of the greyhound Born Lightning. Stewards deemed the performance of Born Lightning unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Born Lightning must peform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Gettin Slizzard was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to it's left hind toe. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
