Mepunga Lana, Dyna Cari and Hello Good Bye collided on the first turn checking Dyna Cari, Noaki Spitfire and Dyna Denny raced wide as a result. Proven Will contacted the running rail on the third turn and lost ground. Proven Earner and Dyna Cari collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking Noaki Spitfire. Noaki Spitfire eased in the home straight and collided with Dyna Cari. Noaki Spitfire and Dyna Cari collided approaching the winning post.
Noaki Spitfire was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained Left Hind Split Webbing, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to Left Hind Split Webbing, a 14 stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(5), the Stewards charged Noaki Spitfire with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(6), before any future nomination will be accepted.
