Snow Matter was slow to begin.  Nat, Lethal Spider and After Life collided soon after the start.  Yuken Duet was checked off Galaxy Star approaching the first turn.  It's My Secret and Nat collided approaching the first turn checking It's My Secret.  Nat raced wide on the home turn causing Galaxy Star to race wide checking Galaxy Star.  It's My Secret and Yuken Duet collided in the home straight.

Bulldog Warrior and Crimson Sally were quick to begin. Audacious Mickan, Shades Of Earl and Dr. Watson were slow to begin.  Shades Of Earl and He's Clever collided on the first turn checking He's Clever. He's Clever was checked off One Required on the first turn.  Audacious Mickan was checked off Bulldog Warrior approaching the home turn.  Crimson Sally and Annabelle's Boy collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  One Required and Crimson Sally collided approaching the home turn checking One Required and He's Clever. Audacious Mickan was checked off Shardes Of Earl entering the home straight and collided with Dr. Watson checking Dr. Watson, Audacious Mikan faltered and lost ground as a result.

Audacious Mickan was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 9, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle and right triangle muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Bulldog Warrior - winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Galea the trainer of Sisco Rage regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Sisco Rage last raced on 27/07/16.  Mr. Galea stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a back muscle injury and a spell.

New Level was quick to begin.  Sassy Ginger, Sisco Rage and Dr. Shiki were slow to begin.  No Road and Moore Of Darcy collided soon after the start checking Moore Of Darcy.  No Road, Moore Of Darcy and Dr. Shiki collided on the first turn checking No Road.  No Road and Moore Of Darcy collided approaching the home turn.  Dr. Shiki raced wide in the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Trov's Gem.

Le Doyen was quick to begin.  Hunter's Hero, Beyond Today and Loving Angels collided soon after the start.  Le Doyen and Trov's Gem collided approaching the first turn.  Select Selwood, Worthy Reab, Beyond Today and Trov's Gem collided approaching the first turn checking Trov's Gem and Worthy Reab, Worthy Reab tailed off as a result.  Select Selwood and Beyond Today collided on the first turn. Worthy Reab was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.  Mr. Clay declined his option to have the greyhound re-vetted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Clay the representative of the greyhound Worthy Reab.  Stewards deemed the performance of Worthy Reab unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71 Stewards directed that Worthy Reab must perform a satisfactory trial all tracks before any future nomination will be accepted.
