Arvo's Steva was a late scratching at 12.40pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to an injured right fore toe . A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Lil' Scallywag was slow to begin. Classic Moments crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Speed And Rocket and Aeroplane Benny. Lil' Scallywag crossed to the inside approaching the first turn checking Classic Moments, Miss Giblet, Speed And Rocket and Aeroplane Benny. Ragtime Jaymee and Lil' Scallywag collided on the first turn checking Lil' Scallywag. Classic Moments crossed to the outside approaching the home turn severely checking Aeroplane Benny and Lil' Scallywag and causing both greyhounds to stumble and tail off.
Aeroplane Benny was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness across its thoracic spine and right pencil muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
