Bullboar, Lektra Jewel, American Monster and Before Dawn were slow to begin. American Monster checked off Coolan Mist soon after the start, severely checking American Monster which stumbled. Aston Maveric, Lion Rebel and Coolan Mist collided approaching the first turn, checking Aston Maveric. Aston Maveric checked off Lion Rebel on the first turn, checking Aston Maveric, Bullboar and Before Dawn. Lion Rebel, Lektra Jewel and Gelwix collided approaching the home turn, severely checking Lektra Jewel which stumbled as a result. Bullboar and Before Dawn collided on the home turn, checking Before Dawn. Aston Maveric and American Monster collided on the home turn, checking American Monster. Bullboar checked off American Monster in the home straight.
Lektra Jewel was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to both shoulders, right triangle and right pencil muscles, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
