Ebert Bale and Ponting's Nail were slow to begin. West On Xandi crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Ponting's Nail and Ebert Bale. Someday Lady and Bucky Boy collided soon after the start and again on the first turn checking Bucky Boy. Cashin' In, Bucky Boy and West On Xandi collided approaching the second turn, severely checking West On Xandi and Ponting's Nail causing both greyhounds to race wide. Moreira and Abscond collided entering the back straight. Cashin' In checked off Ebert Bale on the third turn. Abscond checked off Someday Lady approaching the home turn. Ebert Bale and Abscond collided on the home turn. Ebert Bale checked off Bucky Boy entering the home straight.
