Ecnal was a late scratching at 3:55pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Bulk Carnage was quick to begin. Dark Discovery was slow to begin. Nero Joe and Monterra collided soon after the start. Dark Discovery, Nero Joe and Monterra collided approaching the first turn checking Nero Joe. Bulk Carnage checked off Miss Capone approaching the first turn checking Jersey and severely checking Bulk Carnage which stumbled and lost considerable ground as a result. Dark Discovery, Nero Joe and Monterra collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn severely checking Nero Joe and Monterra. Dark Discovery raced wide as a result. Nero Joe and Monterra collided several times on the home turn. Jersey and Bulk Carnage. collided several times in the home straight.

Monterra was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hock sprain and a spike wound to the left carpal pad. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.
