Why Not Will went up with lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Jack Of Meade and Tinaka were slow to begin.  Dodger's Beauty stumbled at box rise. Woodleigh Blue was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to its head.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Yaala was quick to begin.  Freedom Fire was slow to begin.  White Escargot, Auburn Girl and Laniakea collided on the first turn.  White Escargot checked off Lars Boy approaching the home turn severely checking Auburn Girl, Laniakea and Riverside Shaz; Laniakea and Riverside Shaz lost ground as a result. Mendacious Lad and Yaala collided on the home turn checking Yaala.  Mendacious Lad and Yaala collided approaching the winning post.

Tell Me Ma was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  Trainer, Mr. J. Carr declined to have the greyhound re-vetted.

Carr, the trainer of the greyhound Tell Me Ma regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the back straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), stewards charged Tell Me Ma with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Carr pleaded guilty to the charge.  Tell Me Ma was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Ultimate Conor trialled over the 311 metre distance from box 8, weight 33.6kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.13.  The greyhound won by a margin of 1 length.  Ultimate Conor was cleared to race in blinkers.
