Oshkosh Jay was quick to begin. Goldenpaw Glory, Queen Quick and Crump's Legend collided soon after the start, checking Queen Quick. Crump's Legend and Shima Gold collided approaching the first turn. Jarbass Bale and Oshkosh Jay collided approaching the first turn. Shima Gold and Olfina Allen collided on the first turn. Crump's Legend galloped on the heels of Jarbass Bale on the first turn, checking both greyhounds and causing Crump's Legend to race wide as a result. Shima Gold and Goldenpaw Glory collided entering the home straight. Fay Courage raced wide in the home straight.
