Steward's Report
Country Flash was a late scratching at 12:10pm by Order of Stewards. Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Lloyd, trainer of Country Flash regarding his failure to present the greyhound for racing in this event. Acting under GAR 86(o) Stewards charged Mr. Lloyd with negligence in that he failed to present the greyhound. Mr. Lloyd pleaded guilty to the charge and was found guilty and fined the sum of $250.
Mr. Banks checked off Secret Choice soon after the start. Maestro Destini and Diyas collided soon after the start checking Maestro Destini. Hey Alio Fozzio and Secret Choice collided approaching the first turn checking Hey Alio Fozzio. Rosie's Gift and Maestro Destini collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Maestro Destini. Power Sensation and Diyas collided approaching the home turn checking Diyas. Diyas and Mr. Banks collided entering the home straight checking Diyas which stumbled as a result. Diyas checked off Rosie's Gift in the home straight.
A sample was unable to be taken from Maestro Destini, a post race sample was subsequently taken.
Diyas was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
