Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Destini Charger.
Son Of Irod was very slow to begin (4 lengths). Precious Destini and Yad Mai collided soon after the start. Precious Destini and Pitch collided approaching the first turn. Yad Mai, Alvarsson and Crump's Princess collided approaching the first turn severely checking Alvarsson which stumbled as a result. Destini Charger galloped on the heels of Krinon Brae on the first turn checking Destini Charger, Krinon Brae and Yad Mai. Yad Mai and Crump's Princess collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Son Of Irod eased on the first turn and collided with Crump's Princess. Son Of Irod, Yad Mai and Crump's Princess were checked as a result. Krinon Brae checked off Precious Destini approaching the home turn. Destini Charger checked off Krinon Brae entering the home straight. Yad Mai raced wide in the home straight.
Son Of Irod was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left hip. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Traynor, the trainer of the greyhound Son Of Irod regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Son Of Irod with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Traynor pleaded guilty to the charge. Son Of Irod was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Yad Mai was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left wrist. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Alvarsson was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Crump's Princess was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left hock. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
