Son Of Irod was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left hip.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.  

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Traynor, the trainer of the greyhound Son Of Irod regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Son Of Irod with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Traynor pleaded guilty to the charge.  Son Of Irod was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Yad Mai was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left wrist.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Alvarsson was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Crump's Princess was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left hock.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Hendy, the trainer of Hillbilly Bubba regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Hillbilly Bubba last raced on 13th June 2016.  Mr. Hendy stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a left groin injury.  Mr. Hendy also declared a new weight of 31.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Hillbilly Bubba last raced at 30.0kgs.

Dyna Yavin trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 1, weight 35.7kgs.  The greyhound was placed 2nd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.09. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.25 lengths.  Dyna Yavin was cleared.

Ferndale Gara trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 2, weight 31.1kgs.  The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.09.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.75 lengths.  Ferndale Gara was cleared.
