Lachlan's Rough and Cash You Latte were slow to begin. Midnight Timmy and Dream Date collided soon after the start. Ablazin Mikado and Wise Maple collided approaching the first turn. Midnight Timmy galloped on the heels of Dream Date approaching the first turn, checking Midnight Timmy and Dream Date, and severely checking Lachlan's Rough which raced wide as a result. Wise Maple checked off Ablazin Mikado approaching the second turn. Cash You Latte checked off Lachlan's Rough on the second turn, severely checking both greyhounds. Wise Maple checked off Dream Date on the third turn. Lachlan's Rough and Cash You Latte collided approaching the home turn. Dream Date checked off Ablazin Mikado entering the home straight.
Cash You Latte was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained pain in the right hock, a twenty-one day stand down period was imposed.
