Stewards spoke to Mr S.Divers, Representative of Son Of Shirl with regard to the length of time the greyhound has had between racing. Son Of Shirl last raced on 20 April 2015. Mr Divers stated that Son Of Shirl is returning to racing after suffering a shoulder injury. Stewards noted Mr Divers' comments.
Kraken Mac and Red Hot Bella were quick to begin. Son Of Shirl was slow to begin. Find And Destroy checked off Shezza's Nitro soon after the start. Hy Guard and All Inn Tops collided approaching the first turn checking Inspector Bush, Son Of Shirl and Hy Guard. Kraken Mac and Shezza's Nitro collided on the first turn checking All Inn Tops, severely checking Inspector Bush and Find And Destroy. Kraken Mac faltered on the home turn. Son Of Shirl checked off Hy Guard in the home straight.
Kraken Mac was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right metacarpal, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards issued a warning to Mr K. Eyles, Trainer of Kraken Mac, regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn.
Inspector Bush was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained grazes to both metacarpals, no sand down period was imposed.
Find And Destroy was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
