Dugan was slow to begin. Pingu, Dugan and Bryce's Boy collided soon after the start. Happy Hudson and Slow Cooker collided soon after the start, checking Slow Cooker. Typhoon Blake and Pingu collided approaching the first turn. Slow Cooker checked off Typhoon Blake approaching the first turn. Typhoon Blake, Dugan and Bryce's Boy collided on the first turn, severely checking Dugan. Santa and Vivacious Chick collided approaching the home turn.
Dugan was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both monkey muscles and the left quadricep, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
