Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr.G.Lane , trainer of Black Barron Lad, regarding the extended period of time between the greyhound's races. Black Barron Lad last started on the 24th January.2015. Mr.Lane stated the greyhound was returning to race after suffering a right hip injury.
A pre race sample was taken from Rangatang.
Tekki Tyrant and Cosmic Jewels were slow to begin. Flying Casey and Jack's Prince collided soon after the start, checking Flying Casey. Black Barron Lad and Jack's Prince collided approaching the first turn, checking Black Barron Lad which contacted the running rail. Black Barron Lad and Tekki Tyrant collided on the first turn, checking Black Barron Lad. Lord Diamond, Dee Tee and Rangatang collided on the first turn. Rangatang and Cosmic Jewels collided approaching the home turn. Flying Casey and Jack's Prince raced wide entering the home straight.
Black Barron Lad was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the right hind foot. No stand down period was imposed.
