Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Buckle Up Todd.
Why Not Dawn was quick to begin. Sargent, Puzzled Royal and El Tee Hawk were slow to begin. El Tee Hawk and Terra Flash collided soon after the start severely checking El Tee Hawk which lost ground as a result. Sargent and Arvo's Sheila collided approaching the first turn. El Tee Hawk faltered approaching the first turn and tailed off as a result. Puzzled Royal and Terra Flash collided on the first turn severely checking Terra Flash which lost ground as a result.
El Tee Hawk was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 6, it was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to its left front leg and an injury to its left monkey muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. M. Thomas, the trainer of the greyhound El Tee Hawk. Stewards deemed the performance of El Tee Hawk unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that El Tee Hawk must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
