Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Ocean Bay.
Swift Bazmo was slow to begin. Saint Flynn, Optic Bray and Crackerjack Roy collided soon after the start, checking Optic Bray. Cudgee's Milo and Country Flash collided approaching the first turn, checking Country Flash. Country Flash and Swift Bazmo collided on the first turn, checking Swift Bazmo. Cudgee's Milo and Saint Flynn collided on the first turn. Cudgee's Milo, Spring Kitty and Saint Flynn collided approaching the home turn, checking Spring Kitty and Crackerjack Roy. Spring Kitty and Ocean Bay collided on the home turn. Optic Bray checked off Crackerjack Roy entering the home straight. Cudgee's Milo eased in the home straight.
Cudgee Milo was vetted and after being re-vetted following event twelve, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Hunt, the trainer of the greyhound Cudgee's Milo regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Cudgee's Milo with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Hunt pleaded guilty to the charge, Cudgees Milo was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
