Spring Time Miss was a late scratching at 5.58pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to illness. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Magic Dance was quick to begin.

Swift Operator, Cruisy's Lil and Where'd She Go collided soon after the start checking Swift Operator. Severus Grange and Cruisy's Lil collided approaching the first turn checking Cruisy's Lil. Swift Operator and Hold on Belena collided approaching the first turn. Cruisy's Lil, Swift Operator and Hold on Belena collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds. Swift Operator and Cruisy's Lil collided on the first turn checking Cruisy's Lil. Severus Grange checked off Magic Dance on the first turn checking Cruisy's Lil and severely checking Hold On Belena, Where'd She Go and Severus Grange, Severus Grange which fell as a result. Cruisy's Lil checked off Where'd She Go approaching the home turn.

Blackpool Chuck was quick to begin. Cheryl's Boy went up with the lids at boax rise and was slow to begin. 

Nukstar went up with the lids at box rise. Mahjong Heat, Blackpool Shaz and My Girl Belena collided soon after the start. Blackpool Shaz and Blackpool Chuck collided soon after the start. Mahjong Heat and Manila Fawn collided approaching the first turn checking Manila Fawn and Blackpool Chuck. Stewards spoke to Mr J. Rennie regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Cheryl's Boy.  Stewards directed that Cheryl's Boy be boxed first in future events.

Scarlett Ruby was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained lacerations to the second digit right hind medial, and an injury to the left fore shoulder joint, a 28 day stand down period was imposed. 

Apres Party was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Smashing Wild and Red Tone were slow to begin.

Drysdale Doll crossed to the rails soon after the start checking Segla, Destini Baby, Flyrite and severely checking Anita's Girl; Anita's Girl fell as a result. Smashing Wild checked off Red Tone approaching the first turn. Flyrite and Drysdale Doll collided on the first turn checking Flyrite. Smashing Wild and Destinite Baby collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Destini Baby checked off Smashing Wild entering the home straight.

Anita's Girl was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising to he left flank, a laceration to the right inner thigh and spike wounds, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Zero Knockin' checked off Pittsy Lomar on the first turn. Enjoy Cruising checked off Mahogany Saphire on the first turn checking Mahogany Saphire. Be Hopeful, Shazzle's Boy and Mahogany Saphire collided on the first turn checking Shazzle's Boy, Mahogany Saphire and Zero Knockin'. Shazzle's Boy checked off Zero Knockin' in the back straight. Be Hopeful collided with Jeremiah Jack entering the home straight.

Deadline To Meet stumbled at box rise and was slow to begin (5 lengths). Alezan and Goldenpaw Girl were slow to begin. Golden Paw checked off Nallak approaching the first turn. Goldenpaw Girl and Nallak collided on the first turn checking Nallak and Deadline To Meet. Alezan checked off Media Street on the home turn. Call Me Waylan and Crackerjack Pete collided approaching the winning post.

Nallak was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the hamstrings in both hind legs and the right hind biceps, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Mepunga Ted was slow to begin. 

Another Blue, Running Yards, Cactus Jack and Aston Ryder collided soon after the start. Mepunga Ted and Dream Of Success collided soon after the start. Running Yards and Cactus Jack collided approaching the first turn. Another Blue and Dream Of Success collided on the first turn checking Another Blue. Mysterize and Aston Ryder collided on the first turn checking Mysterize. Another Blue and Cactus Jack collided on the first turn checking Cactus Jack. Another Blue checked off Aston Ryder on the home turn. Another Blue checked off Cactus Jack on the home turn checking Running Yards, Running Yards raced wide as a result. Cactus Jack eased approaching the winning post checking Dream Of Success. 

Cactus Jack was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr B. Bravo, the trainer of the greyhound Cactus Jack regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Cactus Jack with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Bravo pleaded guilty to the charge, Cactus Jack was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Nitroniun was slow to begin.

Tai Chi Mini crossed to the rails soon after the start checking Ram Raider and Why Not George. Milly O'Muffin checked of Mahjong Baby approaching the first turn. Why Not George, Ram Raider, Milly O'Muffin and Nitroniun collided on the first turn checking all four greyhounds. Yuken Duet crossed to the rails on the first turn checking Dee Tee Vane. Ram Raider checked off Dee Tee Vane approaching the home turn. Dee Tee Vane and Mahjong Baby collided on the home turn checking Mahjong Baby. Nitroniun checked off Mahjong Baby on the home turn checking Milly O'Muffin. Mahjong Baby and Tai Chi Mini collided in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Miller, the handler of Koch regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Koch last raced on 16th June, 2016. Mr. Miller stated that the greyhound was new to the kennel and had been spelling.

A pre race sample was taken from Sisco Gillie.

Ataraxia was slow to begin. Sisco Gillie was quick to begin. Koch checked off Sisco Gillie soon after the start. Koch and Shifty Jack collided soon after the start. Zenergy, Koch, Shifty Jack, Pingu and Next Grange collided on the first turn checking Pingu and Next Grange. 

Mr. B. Cook, trainer of Hyper Velocity declared a new weight of 29.4 kg's for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Hyper Velocity last raced at 27.8 kg's.
