Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Pay The Boo upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
A pre-race sample was taken from Quick Return.
Hotlips Matilda was quick to begin. Baron Charlie was slow to begin. Monaleen Monty and Hotlips Matilda collided soon after the start. Pay The Boo, Liquid Diamond and Sisco Blast collided approaching the first turn checking Liquid Diamond. Sisco Blast checked off Monaleen Monty on the first turn. Quick Return eased in the home straight and collided with Pay The Boo. Quick Return and Southwood Max collided in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Azzopardi, the trainer of the greyhound Quick Return regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Quick Return was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), Stewards charged Quick Return with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Azzopardi pleaded guilty to the charge. Quick Return was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
