Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Jetmag Gemstone upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling a pre race sample was subsequently taken.
Jackdell and Bomber Lane were slow to begin. Jackdell and Tamile Lass collided soon after the start. Iron Side and Archi Willow collided approaching the first turn checking Iron Side. Jetmag Gemstone and Major Bill collided approaching the first turn checking Major Bill and Tamile Lass. Tamile Lass checked off Jackdell on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Iron Side and Swift Bunny collided approaching the home turn. Archi Willow checked off Jetmag Gemstone collided in the home straight. Jackdell and Archi Willow collided in the home straight. Jetmag Gemstone eased approaching the winning post and collided with Archi Willow and Jackdell.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Paull, the trainer of the greyhound Jetmag Gemstone regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Jetmag Gemstone was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left monkey muscle and the left pencil muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), stewards charged Jetmag Gemstone with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Paull pleaded guilty to the charge, Jetmag Gemstone was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
