A pre-race sample was taken from He's A Dude.
Lisburn Star was slow to begin. Quint Bale, Demtel and Wisen Up collided soon after the start, checking Wisen Up. Lisburn Star contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground as a result. Why Not Logan and He's A Dude collided on the first turn. Eumeralla Flash and Demtel collided on the first turn, approaching the home turn, on the home turn and again entering the home straight, checking He's A Dude and Demtel. Demtel and Wisen Up raced wide in the home straight.
Lisburn Star was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left hamstring and spike wounds to the left hind leg, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
