Stewards spoke to Mr L Mitchell, the handler of Ravishing Rufus regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Ravishing Rufus last raced on 23rd April 2015. Mr Mitchell stated the greyhound is returning from a dropped back muscle. Stewards noted his comments.
Foxy Lulu and Cinquedea were quick to begin. Ravishing Rufus was slow to begin. Mizuki crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Hez All Black and Raven Lord. Cinquedea crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Foxy Lulu. Raven Lord crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Hez All Black. Foxy Lulu and Raven Lord collided approaching the home turn. Speed And Rocket raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight. Hez All Black raced wide in the home straight.
Hez All Black was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left elbow. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
