Panther Grit and Jimmy's Angel were slow to begin. Tweedle Dumb and Are You collided soon after the start. Panther Grit crossed to the outside soon after the start, checking Enchanting Image and severely checking Jimmy's Angel which raced wide as a result. Are You and Stoppa Bus collided at the 250m mark. Panther Grit and Jimmy's Angel collided several times from the 250m mark until approaching the 100m mark, checking both greyhounds. Are You and Tweedle Dee collided at the 100m mark.
