Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Blackalls Lad.
Cosmic George, Smurftastic, Blackalls Lad, All Inn Emma and Chum's Special collided soon after the start checking Blackalls Lad. Cosmic George and Smurftastic collided on the first turn checking Blackalls Lad. All Inn Emma, Chum's Special, All Inn April and Nick collided on the first turn checking All Inn April and Chum's Special. Blackalls Lad and All Inn Emma collided approaching the home turn severely checking Blackalls Lad which contacted the running rail as a result. Chum's Special galloped on the heels of Blackalls Lad approaching the home turn severely checking Chum's Special which raced wide as a result. All Inn April and All Inn Emma collided on the home turn and several times in the home straight checking both greyhounds.
Blackalls Lad was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the face and an injury to its left monkey muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
